{"id":1033,"date":"2011-07-26T09:03:46","date_gmt":"2011-07-26T14:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/backyardcitypools.wordpress.com\/?p=1033"},"modified":"2012-06-20T14:52:59","modified_gmt":"2012-06-20T19:52:59","slug":"how-to-clean-your-pools-filter-cartridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backyardcitypools.com\/Swimming-Pool-Blog\/how-to-clean-your-pools-filter-cartridge\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Clean Your Pool&#8217;s Filter Cartridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.backyardcitypools.com\/Images\/Misc\/Filter-Cartridges.jpg?w=580&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The following directions\u00a0will help ensure that your <a title=\"Swimming Pool Filter Cartridges\" href=\"https:\/\/www.backyardcitypools.com\/Filter-Cartridges\/Replacement-Filter-Cartridges.htm\" target=\"_blank\">swimming pool&#8217;s filter cartridge<\/a> gets a proper cleaning.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Remove the cartridge filter from the filter&#8217;s housing following the manufacturer&#8217;s instructions.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">2.\u00a0 Use a garden hose to with a straight flow nozzle to wash down the filter cartridge.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work from the top down, cleaning both the inside and outside.\u00a0 Hold the spray at a 45 degree angle for best results.\u00a0\u00a0 Clean between all the pleats.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">3.\u00a0 Rinse and repeat until\u00a0dirt\u00a0and debris\u00a0are completely\u00a0gone.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">4.\u00a0 If the filter cartridge is still dirty or has been used in a spa or swimming pool where\u00a0sun tanning lotions or oils are frequently used, then soak the filter cartridge for at least one hour (overnight is more effective)\u00a0using one of the following options:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" align=\"justify\">&#8212;
